2016 USA Judo Senior Nationals Preregistration

Don’t be one of those members that are in a panic on the deadline date, it’s after business hours and you can’t log into the database to register for the national championships.

On line registration is open until midnight est on Wednesday April 6.  Click here to register online NOW.

IF YOU DON’T READ ANYTHING ELSE, READ THIS:  Athlete date of birth and citizenship must be verified in the database prior to using the online system.  Email a copy of the athletes’ birth certificate or passport to Verifications will only be processed during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:00pm MST.

New for 2016! IJF Kata Competition

This year, in addition to our annual shiai competition, we are proud to host an IJF Kata Competition. It will take place on Friday, May 27 2016 the Niagara University Gallagher Center. Registration will take place from 3pm-4pm, followed by the competition itself at 5pm. We are fortunate to have the following judges presiding over the event:

ENTRY FEES: – please note – kata fee different than shiai fees

$100 per pair for the first kata. $50 per pair for the second kata (must be the same pair).
If competing in BOTH kata and shiai, the shiai will be considered a second division and the competitor will be charged only $25.00 per shiai division.

Cultural Demonstration: Japanese Girls' Day

At the Detroit Institute of Arts, March 6, 2016, 1 pm and 3 pm:

Join members of the Japan Society of Detroit Women’s Club and Ikebana International in a celebration of Japanese Girls’ Day, or Hinamatsuri, with demonstrations of ikebana flower arranging, tea ceremonies, traditional music and dance. Presented by the Consulate General of Japan in Detroit. Rivera Court, 2nd Level.
