OBITUARY
Jack Kiyoto Tono, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home in Thornton, CO. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the age of 94.
Born and raised in California, he and his family were forced to relocate from the San Jose area and interned at the Heart Mountain Internment Camp during WWII where he became part of what is now known as the “Heart Mountain 63” (young Nisei men from Heart Mountain who resisted the draft, were arrested, tried and imprisoned).
Beloved husband of the late Mary Hisako Tono, he is survived by his children Roxane, Jacqueline, Nadine (Robert), Deborah, Douglas (Caryn) and his four grandchildren Kenji, Toshi, Kimiko, and Trent.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Buddhist Temple of Chicago, 1151 W. Leland Ave., Chicago, IL 60640. Visitation is at 1:00pm followed by a service at 2:30pm. For info call the Buddhist Temple of Chicago at 773/334-4661.
