Konan Judo

At the spring 2011 USJF Committee Meetings, the USJF Board of Examiners recommended that USJF Coaches and Teachers obtain the Positive Coaching Alliance Double Gold Coach Certification.  This motion was seconded by Konan BoE representative Tom Sheehan.

The PCA Double-Gold program is a nationally recognized coaching program the emphasizes character development and life-lessons from sport. At the same time,  by moving away from a “win-at-all-costs” approach,  PCA trained coaches have been highly successful competitive athletes and teams.

At the upcoming meeting on October 29, the  Konan Board of Governors will be considering establishing financial assistance for coaches and teachers seeking PCA certification.
