Michigan Judo Development Association is sponsoring a fund raising event to assist a seven member local youth team ranging from the ages of 12 to 14 years old to travel to Japan to participate in training and competition at the Sanix Youth Team Championship event held in Fukuoka, Japan in December 2011. Click here to learn more about the Sanix tournament.
The United States Judo Federation, through its development fund, has granted the Konan Judo Association $5,000 to assist with this endeavor.
The cost for travel and accommodations is approximately $2000 per player, ($1700 airfare and $300 accommodations). Our goal is to raise $500 per person for a total of $3500 through this fund raising event.
We are asking for a pledge per throw for each of the judo team members. Most kids can perform about 500 throws in two hours. If you pledge as little as $0.10 per throw you will help the future team member collect $50 toward his travel and accommodations.
Please pledge any amount that you can afford to help fulfill this team’s dream. Your contribution to this fund will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable under law. Click here for the pledge form: Sanix Support Throw-a-thon
This event will be take place at Birmingham YMCA Judo dojo on Sunday, August 28, 2011, 11am to 1pm.
Thank you very much for your support to our youth development.
