Get to Know Our Athletes: Dominique Walker!
Dominique Walker is competing in the Greco and Freestyle divisions of Wrestling.
1) Why did you register for the Meijer State Games of Michigan?
My father and a local club coach received a invitation for me in the mail. We checked it out online, and it seemed like a really cool tournament.
2) How long have you been Wrestling? I started when I was about 9, so about 11 years.
3) Have you received any awards or special mentions for Wrestling? Yes, my high school state tournament appearances include: 3 Greco state championships, 2 freestyle state championships and I was named a university Greco All-American in 2009.4) Any other interesting facts you’d like to share? I believe Greco style competition is truly my specialty, but my dad believes I am a better freestyle. He had a strong influence on me competing in both divisions of the State Games.
