Over 20 Konan/JAM judokas joined approximately 400 competitors in the recent USA Judo Scholastic Tournament in Grand Rapids and competed very well amongst their peers from all over the country.
- 1st Place: Summer Troung in two divisions, Thomas Machowicz and Alexandra Golden
- 2nd Place: Hanting Wong, Hailey Runyon, Thomas Machowicz, Madison Nakayama, and Gabriela Gomez
- 3rd Place: Harun Bogdanic, Kinsey Golden, Andrew Hardigan
- 5th Place: Collin Hardigan, Tudor Chindris
Also, these events do not happen without the special efforts of a team of people. Special thanks to Jim Murray, JAM President, for leading the administration efforts.
Konan was responsible for setting up the event, and running the scoring tables and over 45 Kan and JAM people volunteered over the course of the three day event.
We received many compliments on the professional efforts rendered and volunteers deserve special thanks for your service.
We also received good media coverage on both TV and in the press so this was a great showing for Konan and JAM.
We look forward to seeing you all in June at the State Games!

I think that we actually placed 14 in the top 5 as my student Tudor Chindris placed 5th within Junior B, 81 kg.
