Recently the Olympic qualification rules for Judo were made much more difficult.
There are a total of only 386 eligible players across 7 men’s and 7 women’s divisions. Most of the places are based only on World Ranking with a small number based on Continental Ranking. For instance, for North, Central and South America under the Panamerican Judo Confederation (PJC) only 21 spots spread between men and women over all divisions.
