Konan’s George Truong named Outstanding Male Competitor in E-level Event

From USA- Judo: George Truong (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Ju Shin Kan), a 2009 Cadet World Team member in the 55kg division, was named the Male Outstanding Competitor  at the Northglenn Judo Championships, a USA Judo Senior E-Level Point Tournament, after winning his first senior tournament at 60kg. Truong defeated two-time Blind World Team member Ron Hawthorne (Colorado Springs, Colo. / USA Judo National Training Site at the Olympic Training Center) and Ladasua Jawam (St. Paul, Minn. / Doc’s Gym) in the first two rounds.  In the final Truong defeated Corwin Learned (El Granada, Calif. / USA Judo National Training Site at San Jose State University), a former 55kg player who medaled at the 2008 Senior Nationals and placed in the top seven at the 2009 Junior Worlds.
